FAQ’S

We have some useful FAQ’S below, if you have any questions about the event, please contact our team on: fundraising@nelsonsjourney.org.uk

Why do I have to pay a registration fee?

Charity places for the London Marathon come at a cost to Nelson’s Journey, fundraising and registration fees help to ensure that we don’t lose out on our investment and are able to raise as much as possible to ensure we can continue our work supporting bereaved children and young people. Registration fees for this event are non-refundable and non-transferable. The registration fee if you are successful is £100.

How are the places offered out?

Each application will be reviewed anonymously by a panel. All applications will be made aware if they have been successful or unsuccessful by 1st July 2026. Do make sure you include as much information as possible on your application form.

Is there a deadline to reach the fundraising target?

If you are successful we ask that you commit to raising 50% (£1250) of the target 3 months prior to race day. We then ask for the full fundraising target to be reached a month after the race day.

What happens if I don’t reach the £2,500 fundraising target?

You will not need to raise the full amount until one month after the race day as we know lots of donations come in afterwards. Our team will be on hand to offer fundraising support and advice and can help with promotion too. Please make sure you are confident you can raise the £2,500 before you apply.
