Nelson’s Journey 2022 Walk of Smiles

The Nelson’s Journey Walk of Smiles event is an occasion to get together with your family and friends to remember a special person who has died, or to think of those people who are grieving.

The event is open for anyone to take part in, and is also one of our positive activities we hold for the families we work with. It’s a very important date to us, as it’s an opportunity to keep in touch with the families, new and old, that we support to see how they are getting on.

All walkers are invited to raise sponsorship for Nelson’s Journey. Although this is not essential to take part in the Walk of Smiles, raising funds for us will help us to deliver the theurapeutic activities we use to support the families we work with.

This year we have TWO ways for you to take part in this activity, either in person or virtually:

WALK OF SMILES EVENT

We are excited to announce that after a break of 2 years, due to the pandemic, we are BACK with our in person Walk of Smiles event.

WHEN: Saturday 11th June 2022 10am-2pm

WHERE: Octagon Business Park Grounds, Little Plumstead, Norwich, NR13 5HR

WHO: This event is open to ALL, not just those who have used the services of Nelson’s Journey. Well behaved dogs are welcome but MUST be kept on a lead.

PRICE: General entry £3, under 5s FREE

WHAT IS THE WALK OF SMILES?  After a beautiful country side walk with routes of 2 and 2.5 miles (the shorter route being buggy friendly) we have a lovely fun filled afternoon planned with refreshments, BBQ, games, arts, crafts and activities for all ages, along with a chance to make some items to remember the person that died.  There is a lovely atmosphere of togetherness at this event.

ACCESS The 2 mile walk is buggy and wheelchair friendly however due to some other areas of the venue having uneven terrain this may restrict access to guests in wheelchairs
